About Fashion Verbatim
Petite style starts with proportions, but it should never end with a list of rules. Fashion Verbatim is my corner of the internet for women 5′4″ and under who want outfit ideas they can actually adapt to their own lives.

Meet the founder
Ellise Smith · Founder & Editor
Hi, I’m Ellise, the girl behind Fashion Verbatim. I’m 5′3″, perpetually iced-coffee in hand, and a little too attached to my Pinterest boards. For years I stood in front of a full closet convinced I had nothing to wear, trying to force myself into trends that were never cut for someone my height.
Petite dressing can feel like a test you’re constantly failing , wide-leg jeans sweeping the floor, oversized blazers that look borrowed from your dad, dresses that land in all the wrong places. I started Fashion Verbatim to change that. No fashion police here, babe , just real outfits, honest fit notes and the proportion tricks I wish someone had told me years ago.
Whether your style leans clean-girl minimal or a little more edgy, my goal is the same: to help you feel like the main character, even if you’re just running out for groceries. Stay cute, stay comfy, and always dress like yourself. , Ellise
Why petite style?
Sleeve length, inseams, waist placement and the scale of a layer can change how an outfit feels. My focus is on the practical details that help you make more confident choices.
